Research Goal?
Endowing Machines with the ability to perceive and understand humans and the environment in 3D
Abstract:
이 발표는 교수님께서 대학원 시절 하셨던 연구와, 서울대에 오셔서 하신 연구들에 대해서 소개해주셨다. 교수님께서는 Vision 안에서도 3D Vision, 그 안에서도 Human 에 집중하셔서, Human Motion Capture 시스템, Monocular Motion Capture 를 주로 진행하셨다. 서울대에 오셔서는 Portable Lightweight Motion Capture System, High Quality Personalized 3D Human Digitalization 등을 연구하셨다. 후반부에는 Strong AI Researcher 가 되기 위한 조언들을 해주셨는데, 교수님이 어떻게 살아왔는지를 위주로 설명해주셨다. 뛰어난 사람이 아님을 인정하고 극복하기 위한 계획을 실천하고 자신감을 가지라는 것이 주요 요지였다.
Strong Points:
구체적인 수식이나 디테일보다는 전체적인 흐름이나 그림 위주로 설명이 진행되어 이해하기 용이했다. 특히, 신입 대학원생의 입장에서 도움이 되는 말씀들을 많이 해주셔서 좋았던 것 같다.
Weak Points:
특별하게 weak points 로 지적할만한 부분은 없었던 것 같다. 굳이 짚자면, 시간이 부족해서 다 설명을 듣지 못하고 빠르게 스킵한 부분들이 몇 부분 있다는 점이 weak points 가 아닐까 싶다.
